The vascular endothelium cell membrane is the plasma membrane of the endothelial cells that line the interior of the entire cardiovascular system, forming a dynamic interface between blood and tissue. It consists of a phospholipid bilayer embedded with various proteins, including receptors, enzymes, transporters, and adhesion molecules that collectively regulate vascular tone, permeability, hemostasis, immune cell trafficking, inflammation, and angiogenesis.
