Vomeronasal 1 receptor 12, pseudogene (VN1R12P) is cataloged in the human genome as a member of the vomeronasal receptor family, specifically the V1R subtype, which in other organisms play roles in pheromone detection by the vomeronasal organ. However, VN1R12P is annotated as a pseudogene and does not produce a functional receptor protein in humans. It has no currently known biological function, role in disease, or therapeutic relevance in humans[1][2][3][4][6][7][9][10]. The gene is identified by several aliases, including VNR6I3P, bA373D17.2, and hs6V1-3p. The vomeronasal receptor family belongs to the G protein-coupled receptor molecular class, but in humans, most vomeronasal receptor genes (including this one) are pseudogenes and are not considered receptors or therapeutic targets[8]. There is nothing demonstrably incorrect about this specific gene entry beyond its lack of functional protein coding.
