The vomeronasal type-2 receptor, pseudogene (ENSG00000267145) is a human gene homologous to the vomeronasal type-2 (V2R) family of G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) that, in other species such as rodents, are key components of the vomeronasal organ's pheromone-sensing system[1][3]. In humans and most anthropoid primates, the V2R family genes have become pseudogenes, commonly accumulating mutations that disrupt their coding potential, and thus these loci do not produce functional receptors[3][4]. As a pseudogene, ENSG00000267145 is not transcribed into a functional protein product, has no known biological function, and is not a therapeutic, diagnostic, or research target.
