Overview

XK related, Y-linked pseudogene 6 (XKRYP6) is a human pseudogene on the Y chromosome, belonging to the XK, Kell blood group complex subunit-related family. Unlike functional gene products, XKRYP6 is not translated into a protein and lacks known molecular or cellular function. Its sequence resembles protein-coding regions from the XK blood group gene family but carries mutations or structural changes preventing protein expression. No current evidence supports a regulatory or pathophysiological role for XKRYP6, and it is not considered a therapeutic target in biomedical research.
