Overview

yrdC N(6)-threonylcarbamoyltransferase domain containing pseudogene 2 (YRDCP2) is a human pseudogene located in the genome, indicated by its standardized symbol YRDCP2[5][7]. As a pseudogene, it does not produce a functional protein and is not known to play a direct biological role or to be classified among traditional drug target families such as receptor, enzyme, transporter, or transcription factor[5][7]. There is no evidence in current research that YRDCP2 acts as a therapeutic target or that it is involved in any disease pathology, biomarker profiling, or drug interactions. Its classification as a “pseudogene” distinguishes it from other protein-coding or functional RNA genes, and there are no reported aliases or disease associations, mechanisms of action, safety concerns, or use as a therapeutic biomarker[5][7]. The functionally related gene, YRDC, encodes a protein involved in tRNA modification, but YRDCP2 itself is inactive and considered biologically inert[9].
