Zinc finger protein 736 pseudogene 4, Y-linked (ZNF736P4Y) is a pseudogene located on the human Y chromosome. The gene is part of a family of zinc finger pseudogenes that represent non-functional, duplicated, or rearranged copies of the protein-coding zinc finger genes. Like most pseudogenes, ZNF736P4Y does not encode a functional protein. While some pseudogenes have been shown to regulate their parental genes or act as microRNA decoys, there is no evidence that ZNF736P4Y exhibits such functions. It is not considered a therapeutic target, is not associated with any specific disease, and has no reported safety or biomarker relevance.
