ZNF812P shares sequence similarity with zinc finger proteins of the C2H2 type, which are among the largest group of DNA-binding transcription factors in the human genome, but in the case of ZNF812P, there is no evidence of translation into a functional protein. Pseudogenes like ZNF812P are not considered therapeutic targets, although their transcriptional products may in rare cases influence gene regulation or disease, there is no such evidence for ZNF812P specifically[2][6][7].
