ZNF818P is designated a pseudogene based on sequence disruptions that preclude production of a functional protein, such as frameshifts or premature stop codons[1][3]. There is no evidence that ZNF818P is transcribed into a functioning protein or plays a direct role in biological pathways, and it is not a therapeutic or diagnostic target. Although other related zinc finger genes and pseudogenes can show regulatory or disease associations, no such function or disease link is described for ZNF818P to date[1][3][6].
