Zinc finger protein 965, pseudogene (ZNF965P) is a nonfunctional genomic locus classified as a pseudogene and does not encode a functional protein product. Pseudogenes like ZNF965P are remnants of genes that have lost their protein-coding ability or are otherwise inactivated. Zinc finger proteins, which this pseudogene is related to by family, are usually the largest class of eukaryotic transcription factors and feature characteristic zinc finger domains that bind DNA, RNA, proteins, or other molecules.
