Zn regulated GTPase metalloprotein activator 1D, pseudogene (ZNG1DP) is a human pseudogene derived from the CBWD (COBW domain-containing) family, specifically related to functional Zn-regulated GTPase metalloprotein activator 1 (ZNG1). In contrast to the functional gene, this pseudogene does not encode a functional protein, is non-coding, and has no established biological, therapeutic, or diagnostic relevance. It represents a genomic sequence homologous to functional Cobalamin synthetase W domain genes but is incapable of protein production due to loss of function[1][3][6]. The parent family (COBW/CBWD) is involved in zinc homeostasis and metallochaperone activities, but pseudogene variants like ZNG1DP have no direct role in these processes[5].
