Østjysk Innovation

Østjysk Innovation was a Danish innovation incubator and venture capital firm that specialized in early-stage seed investments within the life sciences, medtech, and technology sectors. Based in Aarhus, the organization provided both capital and strategic mentorship to spin-outs from Aarhus University and other regional research institutions. It operated as one of the state-authorized innovation environments (innovationsmiljøer) under the Danish Ministry of Higher Education and Science. The firm played a pivotal role in the Danish startup ecosystem by bridging the gap between academic research and commercial viability. Following a national restructuring of the innovation support system in 2018, the firm ceased making new investments and entered a wind-down phase. Its historical portfolio included numerous startups in diagnostics, therapeutics, and medical devices.
