Company intelligence / Profile preview
Jining No. 1 Pharmaceutical Factory was a prominent state-owned pharmaceutical manufacturer based in Jining, Shandong Province, China. Established in 1966, the factory specialized in the production of bulk antibiotics and finished pharmaceutical products, playing a vital role in China's healthcare infrastructure during the late 20th century. It was particularly well-known for its large-scale production of penicillin, streptomycin, and other essential anti-infective agents. In 1993, as part of a strategic industrial consolidation, the factory was restructured and merged to form the core of the Shandong Lukang Pharmaceutical Group. This transition allowed the entity to modernize its operations and eventually list on the Shanghai Stock Exchange under the Lukang name. While the original factory name is no longer used for active commercial operations, its legacy persists as the foundation of one of China's largest antibiotic production bases.
