Huangshi Pharmaceutical Factory is a historical pharmaceutical manufacturer based in Huangshi, Hubei Province, China. Founded in 1954, it operated for several decades as a prominent state-owned enterprise specializing in the production of chemical active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and finished dosage forms. The company was particularly well-known for its expertise in synthetic steroid hormones and various anti-infective medications. Following the economic restructuring of state-owned assets in China during the late 1990s, the factory was integrated into Hubei Saite Pharmaceutical, which subsequently became a subsidiary of the Humanwell Healthcare Group. Its legacy manufacturing infrastructure continues to serve as a key production base for hormonal and chemical drugs within the Humanwell portfolio.
