1322256 Alberta Ltd. is the legacy corporate entity of Inex Pharmaceuticals Corporation, a Canadian biotechnology company that was a pioneer in the development of lipid nanoparticle (LNP) and liposomal drug delivery systems. In May 2007, the company underwent a strategic reorganization, spinning out its active biotechnology business, including its LNP technology platform and clinical pipeline, into Tekmira Pharmaceuticals Corporation (now Arbutus Biopharma). Following this divestiture, the remaining entity was renamed 1322256 Alberta Ltd. and operated as a shell company until it amalgamated with Trans America Industries in July 2008 to form Primary Corp. Historically, the company's research led to the development of Marqibo (vincristine liposome injection) and provided the foundational LNP technology currently used in various RNA-based therapies.
