Company intelligence / Profile preview
2-BBB Therapeutics was a Dutch clinical-stage biotechnology company focused on developing treatments for central nervous system disorders by overcoming the blood-brain barrier. The company utilized its proprietary G-Technology, which employed glutathione-PEG liposomes to facilitate the active transport of drugs into the brain. Its lead program, 2B3-101, was a liposomal formulation of doxorubicin evaluated in Phase 2 trials for brain metastases and glioblastoma. Another key candidate, 2B3-201, utilized the same delivery platform for methylprednisolone to treat neuro-inflammatory conditions such as multiple sclerosis. Despite the promise of its delivery platform, the company was declared bankrupt in late 2021.
