Aasrom Biosciences

Aastrom Biosciences was a U.S. regenerative medicine and cell therapy company focused on patient-specific, autologous cellular therapies for severe diseases and tissue repair. The company developed ixmyelocel-T for cardiovascular indications and, after acquiring Sanofi/Genzyme's cell therapy business in 2014, commercialized Carticel and Epicel and advanced MACI in cartilage repair. In November 2014, Aastrom Biosciences changed its corporate name to Vericel Corporation and relocated its headquarters to Cambridge, Massachusetts. As a result, Aastrom Biosciences no longer operates as an active standalone company name, but represents the former corporate identity of today's Vericel.
