Abilitech Medical

The company's flagship product—the Abilitech Assist—is a commercially available powered orthotic device designed to restore functional independence in individuals with upper-limb neuromuscular weakness. It provides mechanical assistance to both the shoulder and elbow joints and has been clinically tested in collaboration with leading rehabilitation centers. The device requires minimal patient strength and supports activities of daily living such as eating and self-care. No drug clinical trials are involved. Clinical relationships include collaborations with University of Minnesota, Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare, HealthPartners Neuroscience Center, Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute/Allina Health. The company received a Medical Device Establishment License from Health Canada in March 2022. No traditional clinical trial results as for drugs; product efficacy demonstrated through user experience and clinical partnerships.
