Overview
Obefazimod, an oral small molecule that enhances miR‑124 expression to regulate immune response, has shown positive results in Phase 2 trials for ulcerative colitis and rheumatoid arthritis. The pivotal global Phase 3 program (“ABTECT”) in moderately to severely active ulcerative colitis is ongoing with top-line induction data expected Q3 2025. A dose-ranging Phase 2b trial (“ENHANCE-CD”) for Crohn’s disease has IND clearance and will begin enrollment Q3 2024. Long-term extension studies are also underway.
The company continues to develop follow-on candidates from its proprietary chemical library.
Abivax collaborates with leading French academic institutions including CNRS, Institut Curie, and University of Montpellier.
