Abraxis Health

Abraxis Health was a biotechnology company spun off from Abraxis BioScience in 2009 to focus on personalized medicine and molecular diagnostics. Founded by Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong, the company aimed to integrate genomic and proteomic data to guide therapeutic decisions, particularly in oncology. The entity was created just prior to the acquisition of its sister company, Abraxis BioScience, by Celgene, allowing Soon-Shiong to retain assets related to diagnostic platforms and evidence-based medicine. Abraxis Health sought to develop a comprehensive system that matched patients with the most effective treatments based on their unique molecular profiles. The company's technologies and strategic goals eventually served as the foundation for NantHealth and the broader NantWorks healthcare ecosystem. Its primary focus remained on the convergence of high-performance computing, diagnostic testing, and targeted drug delivery.
