Company intelligence / Profile preview
Absolute Capital Management Holdings (ACMH) was an investment management firm that specialized in managing a suite of hedge funds, notably the Absolute Funds. Founded by Florian Homm, the company was incorporated in the Cayman Islands and listed on the Alternative Investment Market (AIM) of the London Stock Exchange. The firm collapsed in 2007 following the sudden resignation of Homm and subsequent allegations of a massive 'portfolio pumping' fraud scheme that artificially inflated the net asset value of its funds. Although the company held significant positions in various biotechnology and life science stocks, it operated strictly as a financial services entity rather than a healthcare provider or drug developer. The firm's downfall led to extensive litigation and investigations by the SEC and FBI.
