Accelerate Diagnostics has commercialized several rapid diagnostic systems for infectious disease management. Its flagship products include the FDA-cleared Accelerate Pheno system for rapid identification and antibiotic susceptibility testing directly from positive blood cultures, the PhenoTest BC Kit for bacteremia/fungemia diagnosis, the Arc automated sample prep instrument, and development-stage WAVE AST platform. These technologies aim to reduce time-to-result by up to ~40 hours compared to traditional methods. The company’s clinical results have demonstrated significant reductions in time to optimal therapy initiation. However, as of May 2025, the company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.
