Achilles Track Club

Achilles International, originally founded as the Achilles Track Club, is a global non-profit organization dedicated to transforming the lives of people with disabilities through athletic programs and social connection. Founded in 1983 by Dick Traum, the first amputee to run the New York City Marathon, the organization provides a community of support for athletes with various physical and mental challenges. While not a traditional biotechnology company, it operates within the healthcare and wellness ecosystem by providing therapeutic physical activity and rehabilitation support. The organization operates chapters in over 18 countries and 65 cities, facilitating participation in mainstream running events and specialized programs like the Achilles Freedom Team for wounded veterans. Its primary focus is on improving the physical health and psychological well-being of individuals with disabilities through inclusive sports.
