Company intelligence / Profile preview
Hazleton Laboratories was a pioneering contract research organization (CRO) that provided toxicology, clinical testing, and analytical chemistry services to the pharmaceutical and chemical industries. Founded in 1946, the company became one of the largest independent biological testing laboratories in the world, playing a critical role in the safety assessment of new drugs and consumer products. The company was acquired by Corning in 1987 and eventually became a foundational part of Covance (now Labcorp Drug Development). Its legacy continues through the large-scale clinical and preclinical testing infrastructure it established in the United States and Europe.
