Acoustic Imaging Technologies was a pioneering medical device company that specialized in the development and manufacturing of diagnostic ultrasound systems. Headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona, the firm was recognized for its high-resolution imaging technology used in clinical settings such as radiology, obstetrics, and cardiology. The company played a significant role in the evolution of real-time ultrasound imaging during the 1980s. In 1992, Acoustic Imaging Technologies was acquired by Dornier Medical Systems, a subsidiary of Daimler-Benz at the time. Following the acquisition, its operations were integrated into Dornier's medical imaging division, which eventually became part of Dornier MedTech.
