Company intelligence / Profile preview
AcroMed was a U.S. orthopedic medical device company focused primarily on spinal implants and related surgical systems rather than a drug-development biotech pipeline. The company was based in Cleveland, Ohio and became a significant player in spine surgery, with products including spinal fixation and fusion systems. In 1998, DePuy acquired AcroMed for approximately $325 million, after which the business was integrated into DePuy's spine operations and the AcroMed name largely became historical. AcroMed is therefore best understood as a former commercial-stage spine device manufacturer, not an active standalone life sciences company today.
