Acureon Pharmaceuticals was a clinical-stage biotechnology company focused on the development and commercialization of innovative anti-infective therapies to treat serious, drug-resistant infections. Founded in 2017 by Frazier Healthcare Partners and a leadership team of former Cubist Pharmaceuticals executives, the company was established to address the growing global threat of multi-drug resistant (MDR) bacteria. Acureon aimed to build a robust portfolio of hospital-focused products through the acquisition and development of late-stage assets. Despite securing significant backing from prominent venture capital firms like TPG Biotech and NEA, the company ceased active operations around 2018. Its founders and executives have since moved on to lead other prominent organizations in the biotechnology sector.
