Addis Pharmaceutical Factory (APF) is the largest pharmaceutical manufacturer in Ethiopia, established in 1992 and headquartered in Adigrat, Tigray. The company produces a comprehensive range of essential generic medicines, including tablets, capsules, syrups, injectable vials, and large-volume parenterals such as intravenous fluids. APF plays a vital role in the Ethiopian healthcare infrastructure by supplying affordable medications to both the public sector, through the Ethiopian Pharmaceuticals Supply Service, and the private market. The facility is designed to meet international Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards and focuses on reducing the country's reliance on imported pharmaceuticals. Despite regional challenges, the company remains a cornerstone of industrial drug production in East Africa.
