Addison-Davis Diagnostics was a medical technology company specializing in the development and manufacture of rapid diagnostic tests. The company is best known for pioneering the first rapid Strep A test, which significantly improved the speed of diagnosing streptococcal pharyngitis in clinical settings. Their product portfolio also included rapid pregnancy tests (hCG) and other point-of-care diagnostic solutions. In 1994, the company was acquired by Quidel Corporation, a leader in the diagnostic industry, to expand Quidel's presence in the rapid testing market.
