Company intelligence / Profile preview
Adecto Pharmaceuticals has developed proprietary monoclonal antibodies targeting the ADAM8 protein for the treatment of aggressive cancers. Proof-of-concept studies in mice have shown that inhibiting ADAM8 slows tumor growth and metastasis. The company’s lead programs are in preclinical development with plans to move into clinical trials targeting breast cancer—including triple-negative subtypes—where no effective targeted therapies currently exist. A companion diagnostic to identify eligible patients is also under development.
No clinical results are available yet as all programs remain preclinical.
The company was co-founded by Dr. Gail Sonenshein and Dr. Nora Mineva from Tufts University.
