Adeza Biomedical

Adeza Biomedical was a biopharmaceutical and diagnostic company focused on advancing women's reproductive health through the development of products for pregnancy-related disorders. The company was best known for its FullTerm fetal fibronectin test, a diagnostic tool used by clinicians to assess the risk of preterm birth in symptomatic and asymptomatic pregnant women. Beyond diagnostics, Adeza was active in the therapeutic space, notably working on the New Drug Application for Gestiva (hydroxyprogesterone caproate) to prevent recurrent preterm birth. The company was acquired by Cytyc Corporation in 2007 for approximately $450 million. Following Cytyc's subsequent merger with Hologic, Adeza's technologies became a core part of Hologic's women's health diagnostic portfolio.
