Adheron Therapeutics

Adheron Therapeutics was a private U.S. biotechnology company developing therapies that disrupt cell adhesion, with a primary focus on Cadherin-11 biology in inflammatory, autoimmune, and fibrotic diseases. Its lead program, SDP051, was a humanized monoclonal antibody against Cadherin-11 that completed Phase 1 testing in healthy volunteers before the company was acquired by Roche in 2015. The company was founded based on research from Michael Brenner and David Lee at Brigham and Women's Hospital and Harvard Medical School. Adheron's strategy centered on translating Cadherin-11 science into treatments for diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and fibrosis.
