Adiga Lifesciences is a biotechnology company established as a joint venture between the University of Alberta's Li Ka Shing Applied Virology Institute and a private investment group. The company focuses on the commercialization of research discoveries in the field of virology and infectious diseases, led by Nobel Laureate Dr. Michael Houghton. Its primary research and development efforts are directed toward creating a preventative vaccine for the Hepatitis C virus (HCV). Additionally, Adiga is involved in developing therapeutic and diagnostic solutions for other viral threats, including COVID-19 and Zika virus, as well as exploring treatments for neurodegenerative conditions like Alzheimer's disease.
