AdminaStar Federal was a prominent Medicare Administrative Contractor (MAC) that provided administrative and claims processing services for the Medicare program in the United States. Operating as a subsidiary of WellPoint (now Elevance Health), the company managed Medicare Part A and Part B claims for several states, including Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio. In addition to claims processing, AdminaStar Federal offered customer service, provider enrollment, and financial management services to healthcare providers. The company played a critical role in the federal government's healthcare infrastructure by ensuring the accurate and timely payment of medical claims. In 2007, it merged with United Government Services to form National Government Services (NGS), which remains one of the largest Medicare contractors in the country.
