Company intelligence / Profile preview
Advalytix was a German biotechnology company specializing in microfluidic solutions for life science research and molecular diagnostics. Founded in 2000 as a spin-off from the University of Munich, the company developed a proprietary platform based on Surface Acoustic Wave (SAW) technology to manipulate nanoliter liquid volumes on a chip. Its flagship product, the AmpliGrid, enabled high-throughput single-cell PCR and genomic analysis on a microscope slide format. The company's innovations significantly advanced the field of miniaturized assays and low-volume liquid handling. Advalytix was acquired by Olympus in 2005 to serve as a core component of its molecular biology business unit.
