Company intelligence / Profile preview
Advanced Image Enhancement (AIE) was a medical technology company that developed proprietary software and hardware for real-time image processing. The company's flagship technology, Real-Time Image Enhancement (RTIE), was designed to improve the quality of fluoroscopic and endoscopic images by reducing noise and enhancing contrast in live video streams. This technology allowed clinicians to visualize fine anatomical details more clearly during interventional procedures, potentially improving diagnostic accuracy and surgical outcomes. In 2002, AIE was acquired by InfiMed, a leader in digital medical imaging systems, which integrated AIE's enhancement algorithms into its own product portfolio. The technology eventually became part of Varian Medical Systems following Varian's acquisition of InfiMed in 2010.
