Advanced Imaging Technologies (AIT) was a medical device company that specialized in the development of high-resolution ultrasound imaging systems for breast cancer detection. The company's core technology was based on acoustic holography, a method designed to produce detailed three-dimensional images of breast tissue without the use of ionizing radiation. Their primary product, the AIT Breast Imaging System, aimed to improve diagnostic accuracy, particularly in women with dense breast tissue where traditional mammography is often less effective. By utilizing acoustic radiation force impulse and holographic reconstruction, the system sought to differentiate between benign and malignant lesions more clearly than conventional ultrasound.
