Advanced MicroLabs

Advanced MicroLabs was a private Fort Collins, Colorado company that developed microchip capillary electrophoresis and electrochemical detection instrumentation for rapid ion analysis and microfluidic testing applications. Its technology appears to have been applied both to industrial water monitoring, including online ion analysis and perchlorate sensing, and to low-cost biomarker detection assays using very small blood samples. The company received multiple SBIR and grant awards and was founded around 2003 out of technology associated with Colorado State University. Commercial databases indicate it was later acquired by Mettler-Toledo International. Despite some health-related assay development, the company was primarily an instrumentation and environmental analysis business rather than a therapeutics or core biotech drug developer.
