Advanced Prenatal Therapeutics has developed a novel targeted apheresis medical device designed to selectively remove harmful circulating proteins such as sFlt–1 implicated in preeclampsia from the mother’s blood. This approach aims to alleviate symptoms of preeclampsia and prolong pregnancy duration safely, potentially reducing premature births and associated lifelong disabilities. The technology has received FDA Breakthrough Device Designation and won the California Investment Forum Innovation Award in May 2024.
