Aegis Therapeutics is a drug delivery technology company specializing in the non-invasive administration of therapeutics through its proprietary Intravail and ProTek platforms. The Intravail technology utilizes chemically synthesized surfactants to enable the transmucosal delivery of peptides, proteins, and small molecules via nasal, buccal, or oral routes, effectively bypassing the need for injections. ProTek is a stabilization technology designed to prevent the aggregation and degradation of biologics, ensuring the efficacy and shelf-life of protein-based drugs. In 2018, the company was acquired by Neurelis to integrate these delivery technologies into its central nervous system (CNS) portfolio, most notably supporting the development of the FDA-approved nasal spray Valtoco.
