Aeres Biomedical was a UK-based biotechnology company that specialized in antibody engineering and humanization services. Originally established as a spin-out from the Medical Research Council (MRC) Collaborative Centre, the company became a leading provider of humanization technology, helping partners transition rodent antibodies into human-compatible therapeutics. Aeres utilized a proprietary 'best-fit' CDR grafting technique to maintain the affinity and specificity of the original antibody while minimizing potential immunogenicity. The company's expertise contributed to the development of several high-profile therapeutic antibodies for global pharmaceutical clients. In January 2005, Aeres was acquired by Monogram Biosciences for approximately $15 million in stock and cash.
