Aeropharm Technology was a specialized pharmaceutical research and development company focused on advanced inhalation and nasal drug delivery systems. Based in Edison, New Jersey, the company developed proprietary technologies for metered-dose inhalers (MDIs) and dry powder inhalers (DPIs). It operated as a key subsidiary of Kos Pharmaceuticals, providing the technical foundation for their respiratory product pipeline. Aeropharm's expertise spanned formulation science, analytical chemistry, and device engineering for aerosolized medications. Following the acquisition of Kos Pharmaceuticals by Abbott Laboratories in 2006, Aeropharm's facility and staff were integrated into Abbott's global operations. The company was instrumental in developing treatments for chronic respiratory conditions such as asthma and COPD, as well as exploring systemic delivery of peptides like insulin.
