Aetos Technologies

Aetos Technologies was a technology commercialization firm based in Auburn, Alabama, established as a collaborative venture between Auburn University and the City of Auburn. The company's primary mission was to bridge the gap between academic research and the commercial marketplace by identifying, developing, and licensing high-potential technologies from the university's research portfolio. Its focus spanned several high-tech sectors, including life sciences, engineering, and physical sciences, with specific projects involving medical diagnostics, drug delivery systems, and antimicrobial coatings. Aetos provided strategic management, business development, and intellectual property expertise to foster the growth of university spin-off companies. In late 2014, the company was dissolved, and its commercialization functions were transitioned to Auburn University's Office of Innovation Advancement and Commercialization.
