Affomix

Affomix was a private biotechnology and life science tools company focused on automated, high-throughput generation and selection of human monoclonal antibodies. The company developed platform technology to produce antibodies against a broad range of human proteins, including post-translationally modified targets, with applications spanning research tools, diagnostics, drug discovery, and potential therapeutics. Affomix articulated a long-term vision of building the human "Affome," a comprehensive antibody set analogous to the human proteome. The company also pursued antibody microarrays and library products for large-scale protein analysis. Affomix was acquired by Illumina in July 2010.
