Africa Improved Foods

Africa Improved Foods (AIF) is a prominent social enterprise and manufacturer of high-quality, fortified nutritious foods based in Kigali, Rwanda. Established as a public-private partnership involving dsm-firmenich, the Government of Rwanda, and several development finance institutions, the company focuses on addressing malnutrition and stunting in Africa. AIF operates a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility that produces specialized foods for infants, pregnant and lactating women, and the general population, sourcing raw materials from over 130,000 local smallholder farmers. Their product portfolio includes the "Nootri" commercial brand and specialized relief products like "Super Cereal Plus" for the World Food Programme. The company is currently expanding its operations across East and West Africa to create a sustainable, regional food system.
