Wallonie Entreprendre (WE) is the primary economic and financial agency of the Walloon Region in Belgium, acting as a public-interest investment firm and development body. The organization was formed through the merger of several regional entities, including SRIW and Sowalfin, to streamline support for high-growth sectors like life sciences. WE provides venture capital, mezzanine financing, and strategic guidance to a vast ecosystem of biotech, medtech, and pharmaceutical companies. It plays a pivotal role in the 'Biotech Valley' of Wallonia, supporting global leaders such as GSK and UCB while nurturing startups in the cell and gene therapy and radiopharmaceutical spaces. Through its collaboration with the BioWin health cluster and AWEX, the agency facilitates international expansion and attracts foreign direct investment to the region.
