Agentase

Agentase is a biotechnology company specializing in the development of enzyme-based sensors and decontamination products for chemical and biological defense. Founded as a spin-out from the University of Pittsburgh, the company leverages biocatalysis to create highly sensitive detection kits for nerve agents, organophosphates, and other toxic chemicals. Its flagship products, such as the Agentase Chemical Agent Disclosure (CAD) kits, provide rapid, colorimetric results for first responders and military personnel. The company's technology is also applicable to environmental monitoring and food safety. Agentase was acquired by FLIR Systems in 2010 to enhance their CBRNE (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosive) detection portfolio. Following the acquisition of FLIR by Teledyne Technologies in 2021, the technology is now part of the Teledyne FLIR division.
