Agrisoma Biosciences is an agricultural biotechnology company focused on developing sustainable feedstock for the biofuel industry. The company is best known for its commercialization of Carinata (Brassica carinata), a non-edible oilseed crop that produces high-quality oil suitable for biojet fuel and biodiesel. Utilizing its proprietary Engineered Seed Technology (EST) platform, Agrisoma developed crop varieties that offer high yields and cold tolerance, specifically designed for use on fallow land. The company successfully powered the world's first civil flight using 100% biojet fuel in 2012. In late 2019, Agrisoma's Carinata business and intellectual property were acquired by Nuseed, a subsidiary of Nufarm, to further expand the global production of sustainable biofuels.
