CARGO Therapeutics is a clinical-stage biotechnology company dedicated to developing next-generation chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapies for patients with cancer. The company's lead program, CRG-022 (firo-cel), is an autologous CD22-directed CAR-T cell therapy currently in Phase 2 clinical trials for the treatment of large B-cell lymphoma (LBCL) in patients who have relapsed or are refractory to CD19-directed CAR-T cell therapy. CARGO's proprietary platform focuses on optimizing CAR-T cell design to overcome common resistance mechanisms, such as antigen loss and limited persistence. In late 2024, the company entered into a definitive agreement to be acquired by Cocentra Biosciences, a subsidiary of Enavate Asset Management.
