Company intelligence / Profile preview
Airco Industrial Gases, originally established as the Air Reduction Company in 1915, was a leading manufacturer and distributor of industrial and medical gases. The company was a critical supplier to the healthcare and life sciences sectors, providing high-purity gases such as medical-grade oxygen, nitrogen, and nitrous oxide for respiratory therapy, surgical anesthesia, and cryogenic preservation. Airco also developed specialized medical equipment through its Ohio Medical Products division, including anesthesia machines and infant incubators. Following its acquisition by the BOC Group in 1978, and subsequently by Linde in 2006, its operations were integrated into global medical gas networks. Today, the legacy of Airco's infrastructure continues to support clinical and laboratory environments worldwide.
