Company intelligence / Profile preview
AirPal was a U.S.-based medical device company focused on air-assisted lateral patient transfer and patient positioning systems used in hospitals and other care settings. The company developed commercial products that use a cushion of low-pressure air to reduce caregiver strain and improve safety and comfort during patient movement. AirPal is known as an early pioneer in air-assisted lateral transfer technology and was described by Arjo as the inventor of, and first patent holder for, Air Assisted Lateral Patient Transfer Devices. In December 2020, AirPal was acquired by Arjo to strengthen Arjo’s patient handling portfolio in the U.S. market. AirPal appears to have operated as a commercial medtech business rather than a drug-development biotech or pharmaceutical company.
